Shortly after graduating from the National Theatre School, Martha Lambiri Fedorów made her professional stage debut in Thanasis Triaridis’ play “Lacrimosa or The Impossible”. The production stood out both for its atmosphere and for its bold, existential themes.

The Play

“Lacrimosa or The Impossible” is a psychological mystery thriller with strong existential and familial undertones. Thanasis Triaridis, known for his dramaturgical daring, crafted a work that blends magical realism with inner drama, questioning the boundaries of identity and memory.

The story takes place eleven years after the mysterious disappearance of two successful lawyers. Their children, K and R, who were 11 at the time and are now 22, attempt to recreate that fateful night through an improvised ritual. Gradually, they immerse themselves so deeply into their parents’ roles that the line between reality and imagination blurs, creating an inner adventure reminiscent of a “Russian doll” game.

The play, the final part of an informal twelve-part series by the author, delves deeply into themes such as family identity, guilt, sacrifice, memory, and the search for meaning.

The Production

The performance was staged at Thiseion TheatreA Theatre for the Arts from November 25, 2016, to January 14, 2017, every Friday and Saturday evening. It ran for 80 minutes, under the direction of Dimitris Yamloglou, who highlighted the intensity and dark poetic quality of the work.
